If you’re looking for a hotel in Bangkok that offers great value and unbeatable transportation convenience, Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn is a must-consider. Although it’s officially rated as a 4-star hotel on Google Maps, its facilities and service easily rival those of 5-star hotels. Many travelers even call it a “luxury 4-star” or “premium 4-star” stay. With nightly rates ranging from around 150,000 to 200,000 KRW (~110–150 USD), the price is more than reasonable considering the quality.
To be honest, it felt like we received service comparable to Kimpton Maa-Lai—at about half the cost. The direct connection to BTS Surasak Station was one of the biggest perks. Every morning, we could head straight from the hotel to the BTS without stepping outside, and it made the whole trip so much more enjoyable. Here’s a detailed review based on my stay.
Location & Transportation
Location
Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn is located in Bangkok’s Sathorn district, directly connected to BTS Surasak Station. It’s a central business area surrounded by embassies, banks, and office buildings. While it mainly attracts business travelers, its unbeatable BTS access makes it perfect for tourists as well.
Though it’s not in the heart of the Old Town, most major attractions like Siam, Silom, and the riverside are just a 10-minute ride away. However, if your itinerary focuses heavily on the Old Town, you may need to grab a taxi occasionally.
Transportation – The Ultimate Advantage
This hotel’s biggest strength is its direct connection to BTS Surasak. There’s an escalator on the 3rd-floor lobby that takes you straight to the station platform—no need to cross streets or worry about the heat or rain. It’s super convenient, especially when you’re tired after a long day of exploring.
The Silom BTS line also gives you easy access to popular spots like Saphan Taksin, Sala Daeng, and riverside attractions—making this location ideal for both sightseeing and convenience.

Facilities & Breakfast
Infinity Pool with a View
One of the hotel’s most iconic features is its infinity pool overlooking the Bangkok skyline. Our room had the same breathtaking view, which we found even better than the one at Kimpton Maa-Lai.
Breakfast
The breakfast wasn’t overly fancy, but it was clean, well-balanced, and absolutely satisfying—especially considering the affordable room rates.
Room Conditions
Among hotels in the same price range, Eastin Grand Sathorn stands out for its spacious, clean, and well-kept rooms. The beds were comfortable, and everything was neatly maintained. Compared to similarly priced hotels in the Siam or Sukhumvit areas, this one felt roomier and more refined. Definitely a great value!
Pricing (as of 2025)
The standard rate is around 150,000–200,000 KRW per night for two guests. We paid 160,000 KRW (~120 USD) for one night in May. While 4-star hotels in Bangkok average about 130,000 KRW, Eastin Grand is worth the extra cost—offering a near-5-star experience for a mid-range price.

Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn was the perfect choice for our first night in Bangkok. Arriving in the evening, we were greeted by a comfortable room and a dazzling city view. The next morning, taking the BTS from the 3rd-floor lobby made us realize how much this hotel simplified our whole trip.
